Summary


"American Idol" winner FANTASIA, whose debut album, "Free Yourself," was a huge seller, wrote a tell-all autobiography titled "Life is Not a Fairy Tale."

It was a banner year for MARIAH CAREY. This was not a comeback because she had never been away, but it was certainly a resurgence. Her album, "The Emancipation of Mimi," continues to be a massive seller, featuring "We Belong Together," "Shake It Off and "Don't Forget About Us."

Unfortunately, the CONTOURS, the famed Motown group forever to be remembered for "Do You Love Me (Now That I Can Dance)?," "First I Look at the Purse" and a few other 60s gems, split into two groups. One group features original member Joe Billingslea while the other includes Sylvester Potts. It's a very ugly situation.
