Summary
At this critical moment in- history, Michigan needs a heroic performance by our leadership. Effective leadership is our only way out of this quagmire. On the theme of leadership, Theodore Hesburgh, President of the University of Notre Dame, commented, "The very essence of leadership is that you have to have a vision. It's go to be a vision you articulate clearly and forcefully on every occasion." Where is there a clear and forceful vision of Michigan shared by "air our leadership? Each and every one of our leaders in government, industry, religion and media needs to be held accountable. They need to walk-the-walk and not just talk-the-talk. They need to sit down at the table and agree on a vision for Michigan. The way out can be found in new ideas for old problems - risk taking and innovation in the place worn, inadequate responses. The outcome needs to be policies, which can-be articulated forcefully and clearly to the people of Michigan. A vision for a "One Michigan."
