Summary
The Pistons and Olson + Company were awarded the EFFIE for the "CREW Draft" campaign which ran during the 2003-04 season. The campaign focused on the Pistons drafting fans to be Crew Members and part of the team. The commercials featured Commissioner David Stern announcing each pick in the Crew Draft.
This is the second EFFIE for the Pistons with Olson + Company. The first Golden EFFIE was in 2003 for the "Goin to Work. Every Night." campaign.The 2004 NBA Champion Detroit Pistons and Palace Sports & Entertainment have been named the best major league sports franchise by ESPN the Magazine and were included on Brand Week Magazine's list of 2004 Marketers of the Year for its "Goin to Work" campaign. Pistons Owner William Davidson was named Street & Smith's Sports Business Journal 2004 Sports Business Executive of the Year for his overall impact on sports throughout the year, as well as listed as the league's best on a survey of NBA general managers.
