More than 100 residents of Sherwood Forest, a historic neighborhood in northwest Detroit, gathered Sunday, April 20, at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African History to honor one of its distinguished residents, Catherine C. Black-well. Attendees toured the new exhibit, "The Storyteller's Hat," which showcases [Catherine Blackwell]'s personal collection of art and artifacts collected over a 40-year period and currently on display in the Chase Gallery of the Museum through June 1. The exhibition is named for the famous hat that Blackwell wears when she tells stories about her trips to Africa to students.
