Wayne County Community College nursing student Jillyn Lewis is the recipient of the Sarah Campbell Vaughan Scholarship. Established in 2007 by Vaughan's husband, Dr. Clarence Vaughan, and the Vaughan family, the scholarship honors her memory and recognizes her contributions to both nursing and the so-ciety. She was instrumental in chartering the Lambda Chi chapter in Detroit and the undergraduate chapter at Wayne State.

Lambda Chi Chapter, the Detroit chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc., held its annual nursing scholarship luncheon and fashion show May 16 at the St John's Banquet and Conference Center in Southfield.
