Summary
Whose responsibility is it to help former inmates once they have been released from prison? Whose responsibility is it to come up with solutions for the vast number of male high school dropouts? Whose responsibility is it to save our young Black males? I believe the answer to all of these questions is that it is ours, our responsibility as a community. I am sure if we were honest with ourselves, we would all admit that we have not done a very good job collectively. There are now 1.5 times more Black men in jail then there are enrolled in colleges and post secondary educational institutions.
The Academy is a Morehouse prep school that is affordable (tuition is less than $5,000 annually) and has on its staff teachers who care about our young men. I would urge parents who are concerned about quality education to seriously consider enrolling your son(s) in this outstanding institution. Grade levels at the school are K-7th grade. Hopefully in the near future, [Benjamin E. Mays] Academy will extend to high school grade levels.Herbert J.
