Some $2 million in Tsunami relief has been pledged by both global organizations and governments. The United States government is contributing $350 million in relief efforts. The amount initially pledged had been $35 million, but was increased following initial criticism. More than 6,500 sailors and marines, comprising the crews of the aircraft carrier U.S.S.
