Services were held for [Sheryl R. O]'[Neal] on Jan. 8 at New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Wilma R. Johnson, officiating. Funeral services for Robert Meyer Thomas was held last week at Hartford Memorial Baptist Church.Mr. Thomas was born on Dec. 2, 1920 in Cincinnati. He was the fifth child of 12, born to Charles and Cornelia Thomas. As a young child, he moved to Detroit with his family and was educated in the Detroit Public Schools. Following graduation from High School of Commerce in 1938, he attended the Detroit Institute of Technology and Wayne State University.For 25 years, Mr. Thomas worked as a recruiter for the Division of Education at WSU where he helped to develop the Federal Metro College Program.
