Inductees of this first full class include Charles "Chuck" Bailey, Elmer "Buddy" Coleman; Coach and Athletic Director Leroy Dues, Charlie Fonville, Sammy Gee, Aaron Gordon, Ervin Hawk, Mervin Hawk, [Allen "Jocko" Hughes], Clyde James, Walt Jenkins, Harry Mackey, Charlie "Kingsnake" [Charlie "Kingsnake" Primas] and Lorenzo Wright.

Walt Jenkins was a Hall of Fame football player and shot putter at Wayne (State) University. Jenkins played football professionally in the National Football League and the Canadian Football League (CFL) and was an award-winning coach at Detroit Kettering High School. Harry Mackey played football with Eugene "Big Daddy" Lipscomb in the Marine Corps, and followed with a Hall of Fame career at Kentucky State University. Mackey was invited to training camp with the Baltimore Colts, but instead played in the preseason with the Detroit Lions. Ultimately, Mackey enjoyed a lengthy career playing professionally in the CFL.
