Summary


The hand-washing component of PE-Nut includes lessons for kindergarten through fifth grades. The lessons are from the Exemplary Physical Education Curriculum (EPEC), Health Through Literacy and Healthy Classrooms, Healthy Schools. Reinforcing activities such as "Germ Tag" and the "Wash Your Hands Relay," are also used, and students can read books about hand washing and germs.

According to the CDC, individuals can stay healthy by covering the nose and mouth with a tissue when coughing or sneezing; washing hands often with soap and water; avoiding touching the eyes, nose and mouth; and staying home if sick.
