Summary


The big question is whether or not all these accusations are, in fact, true. The mayor swears up and down that he's being lied on, but the stories just keep coming. For weeks now, we have heard and read story after story about how the mayor supposedly purchased a Lincoln Navigator worth $57,000 for his wife's use with city funds (the actual lease price of the vehicle was $24,995). No, wait. First we heard the Navigator was for Police Chief Ella Bully-Cummings, but then police spokesman James Tate denied that the vehicle was ever used by the chief. Tate did say, however, that an SUV was used by the department for undercover operations. Later it turns out that the navigator wasn't used for that either. Finally, along comes Channel 7 News investigative reporter Steve Wilson who aired a report saying that the vehicle was actually for the mayor's wife, Carlita Kilpatrick.
