Summary
If we have learned anything of the life of Mrs. [Rosa Parks], we must learn and carry with us the lesson of honor, respect, courtesy and self-love. We must tire of the struggle so much so that we stand up and move forward, no longer hanging our heads and asking when will "somebody" do something to change our plight. We must celebrate our right to vote by doing so, and appreciate our right to an education by taking it as seriously as did those who fought segregation.
I looked over a sea of faces during the service for Mrs. Parks. There were faces of all colors, ages and circumstances. They swayed to the hymn, "We Shall Overcome." It was a moment that brought me to tears and is etched in my heart forever.See the full content of this document
