DETROIT - Wayne County Executive Robert Ficano, the Wayne County Parks Division, the Clark Park Coalition and Detroit city officials have celebrated a grand opening of the new Clark Park outdoor ice skating arena, located at the Clark Park recreation center in the city's southwest corner.

The Clark Park ice rink project was funded through a Wayne County parks millage (in the amount of $1 million) that for nearly a decade has helped in attracting and keeping residents. The county has also used the parks millage to renovate portions of Ft. Wayne and to add recreation and restroom facilities to the historically significant site, which dates to the early 19th century.
