Summary
After careful consideration, I applied to the Masters of Public Administration program at the University of Michigan-Dearborn campus and thankfully my application was approved. I was so happy, as I found myself on the road to becoming an administrator with Detroit Public Schools. I figure that in a few years I will either serve as principal of a DPS school or hold a position within DPS Central Administration, leaving such decisions in God's more-than-capable and all-knowing hands.
While it is known that certain neighborhoods may naturally provide a better environment for success, what is promoted within the home is what truly matters. I have wonderful memories of growing up in the Plymouth-Greenfield area, and although there were outbursts of violence surrounding me, that world was left outside my front door.
