Ford Shows Some Guts at New York Auto Show

What's most impressive about the Flex is that after generating a lot of buzz with the Flex concept unveiled at the Detroit show a couple of years ago, Ford didn't disappoint people with the production model. In fact, it's actually cooler than the concept, and that's definitely a sign of a new Ford when considering the direction the automaker has taken in the past when moving concept vehicles into production. Typically, Ford's production models haven't lived up to the concepts.

"It's the first vehicle of its kind that combines seating for seven, interior spaciousness and surprising features with a striking design that looks great on the road and at home for today's modern American families," said Mark Fields, Ford's president of The Americas. "The Flex builds on Ford's leadership in crossover vehicles, which is the fastest-growing part of the auto market today."
