"I don't really like football, but I love these football games," said [Loretta Brown]. "I think it's because of the camaraderie and the socializing. For me, it's special because I didn't go to one of the Historically Black Colleges. I went to Western Michigan University, and I found the whole atmosphere, including the music, at these Black college games to be, well, different."

"It's been very positive in everything," said [Denise Ross]. "She's an only child, and she has bonded and formed friendships that will last a lifetime. The teachers and counselors are like mentors. She absolutely loves it, and I love seeing her love it."

"We've got a brand new journalism building and the school benefits from extremely active and generous alumni," she said. "It's a wonderful environment with Black students from throughout the U.S., Africa, the Caribbean and even Brazil."

If there was a Pulitzer Prize for sports marketing miracles, surely the phenomenon of the Black College Football Classic would merit a nomination.
