I have worked with Judge [Diane Hathaway] closely for many years and consider her to be an excellent jurist with realworld experiences in criminal, civil and family cases. She has a reputation for being tough, fair and impartial, and she is unscrupulous when it comes to putting the law first. Before that, as an assistant Macomb County prosecutor, she took on drug dealers, violent offenders, murderers and sex predators.
As judge, Hathaway sentenced sex offenders to long prison terms and required them to register with Michigan's sex offender list. Just this year, she sentenced a man to up to 40 years in prison for criminal sexual misconduct against two minors. Hathaway has also sentenced hundreds of murderers and other violent criminals to tough sentences, including sentencing a man to up to 70 years in prison for using an AK-47 to kill one person and injure three others.See the full content of this document
