The Michigan House of Representatives passed a comprehensive energy policy reform package that will spur investment in the state's energy system, bring an immediate benefit to Michigan's economy, and create jobs. There is a direct link between creating jobs and updating our energy policy.
Doing nothing forces the state to rely more on out-ofstate power plants fueled by increasingly expensive natural gas, and to buy more power on the spot market. This leaves us exposed to the risk of higher and more volatile electricity prices.
