Summary
Detroiters, regardless of our feelings relative to [Kwame Kilpatrick], had grown weary of the daily turmoil. But as citizens who love and live in the city, we still hoped for a better day. That is to be expected. If Detroiters don't hope for their city, who will?
Now a point to be made here is that several days ago, more than a 1000 folks descended on Hart Plaza to "lift up Detroit in prayer." Even though it was raining they were there. What makes this interesting is that most of these folks were not from Detroit. The crowd was a mixture of young, old, Black, White, Christian, Muslin, Buddhist, Hindu, etc. Their common thread was that the power of prayer is unlimited, so they came to pray for Detroit.Even though the central theme was prayer, several folks, putting feet on their prayer, related to the fact that attitudes have to change and folks have to be more engaged in positive thoughts and actions for change to take place.See the full content of this document
