Cass Community to Host 13th Annual Miss Cass Pageant

Summary


Lastly, the group will be winnowed down to a handful of lucky contestants for the interview segment by WDIVs Paula Tutman, the pageant's emcee. The panel of celebrity judge's will then select the winner and Miss Cass 2008, Charnique, will hand over her title and official crown to Miss Cass 2009. Charnique will keep a special tiara as a memento. After the pageant, participants, judges, escorts, family and friends are invited to the church gym for refreshments and to celebrate all of the contestant's accomplishments.

Cass has recruited several local celebrities to judge this years competition including; WJBK's Monica Gayle, freelance writer Maureen McDonald, Kate Lawson and Neal Rubin of the Detroit News, WDIV's General Manager Maria Drutz, and Roger McCarville, host of Public Television's "Disabilities Today."

"It's the rare opportunity for them to be in the spotlight, feel the love from the audience and have a great measure of personal pride," Tickets to the 2008 Miss Cass Pageant are $5 and can be purchased at the door or by contacting Judy Harnish at (313) 883-2277.
