Summary
Michigan State University's Michigan Political Leadership Program (MPLP) has selected Yvette McElroy, of Detroit, as a recipient of the political leadership fellowship. Through a highly competitive process McElroy was chosen for this public policy and leadership training program that runs annually from February through November.
In early March, two fundraising events were held to raise financial support for the fellowships: The MPLP 13th annual fundraising dinner was held held on March 6 at the Laurel Manor in Livonia; and the MPLP 6th annual West Michigan breakfast on March 7 at the Noto's Old World Italian Dining in Grand Rapids. The events featured one-time vice presidential candidate and former U.S. Congresswoman Geraldine Ferraro and political analyst and commentator Bill Kristol. Each fellowship is valued at $12,000 and equips graduates with the necessary skills to facilitate public policy decisions; to serve as effective leaders and government officials; and to run campaigns for political office.See the full content of this document
