An Anniversary to Remember

Summary


I couldn't reflect on life without thinking about death. It is a time when people suddenly remember all that they wanted to say, do, or share with their now lost loved one. Why didn't they use these days of celebration during life to remind them of the importance of sharing, caring and embracing their loved ones?

It made me wonder if people really understood the importance of anniversaries. Do they recognize what they mean, or do they chalk them up as yet another excuse to party? These are days of importance in marking ones life and livelihood. Each day, or year, is a validation of family past, and future. It represents the connection to family and Mends, and a reminder of what should be mutual importance and appreciation. It is yet another memory that is being made.

Beyond the dinner, gifts and guests, lies a deep and emotional appreciation for the life that my wife and I have shared together.
